Rebel Moon Part 2 the Scargiver is Also Not Very Good: Breakdown and Analysis
Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver is a monumental achievement, in that it is somehow significantly worse than Part 1. This is the worst piece of media I have ever had the displeasure of analysing. Strap in, because this film is an experience.

The problem with this analysis is that you insert your own motives into scenes, and if you proclaim to exclude the lore, you're going to be wrong a great many times. The Hobbit Trilogy is flawed on many levels, but even great films can have holes picked out of them ad nauseum. The Godfather II, Seven Samurai, and so many others have scenes that seem to be superfluous, but the filmmaking isn't intended to be entirely efficient, it intends to be expressive. FWIW, I got tired of your hole picking before I got tired of the film.

I also get some weird ejoyment from watching bad movies. It can serve as what not to do as you mention. It is baffling how many movies get green lit. I know some scripts can get ruined by constant interference from the studio etc so can end up a mess. In the case of rebel moon this appears not to be the case here, and this is how it was supposed to be. Mindblowing.

So something funny I noticed here is that I don't remember any of the other reviews i watched mention the princess's name, just calling her some variation of Space Jesus. What makes this funny is that because Zack Snyder is very intelligent, subtle, and not at all an immature hack, the princess's name, Issa, is literally just the Islamic way of saying Jesus. truly 10/10 writing here

Good work. More than can be said fir this film. So much time and effort went in to actually shooting these movies. What a complete waste of time. More time spent on the script was needed along with someone with talent working on the script. A huge amount of work to rectify this script though.

59:00 YES! Please do! Already when you made the first reference in this video I was thinking about asking if you'd consider making a video on RRR. :D That movie was among the first Indian movies I ever saw, and it's awesome! It's quite different from Western movies, but I've rarely seen a movie filled with so much raw action also be able to be so emotionally compelling.

2:42:26 I wish more people highlighted this aspect of Vi's character! (Warning, excessively long analysis below, lol). It's not that she "regressed" and simply forgot the lessons Vander taught her. Rather, it's that from her perspective, Vander's wisdom just isn't *enough.* Vi is punished repeatedly for attempting to do the right thing: Her decision to turn herself in led to Vander getting kidnapped. She tried to be responsible and tell Powder to stay behind, and that caused her to accidentally kill Milo and Claggor. Meanwhile, her fists are what hurt Powder, yes, but they were ALSO what nearly allowed them to escape from Silco's clutches. And after enduring years of violent abuse in prison, of course Vi is going to double down and go back to punching her way out of her problems. Like you said, _it's all she has left._ But then Act 2 does something interesting: it doesn't reward Vi for using her fists OR doing the right thing. Vi's first strategy after returning to the Undercity was to go straight to the source of her problems and attack it head on (in this case, giving Sevika a flying knee to the face, lol). Violence was her best chance before, but this time even THAT path ends up punishing her. She almost gets herself killed, and the only reason she's saved is because of the comradery she has with Caitlyn. So she backpeddles, and uses her head to topple the water tower instead of resorting straight to her fist. And after the sudden confrontation with the Firelights, she agrees with Caitlyn's method of using diplomacy in order to stop the cycle of violence, even though she could have just as easily sided with Ekko about using the Hextech Gemstone to make weapons. And ONCE AGAIN she's punished when Marcus nearly kills Caitlyn, and when Jinx seemingly kills Ekko (or at least I have to assume that's what Vi thinks, since she never goes back to the Firelights after this). So now, Vi no longer believes that Caitlyn's idealistic ideas of "stopping the cycle" are going to work. How can she? Silco has taken too much from her and has too much control over things for Vi to even consider negotiating with him at this point (especially when her sister is still seemingly under his influence). All she wants now is go on the attack against Silco. She goes to the council specifically hoping they'll take action against him (even going as far as to deliberately bait Jayce by telling him "Jinx" has the gemstone), and is infuriated that they're _still_ willing to talk things out with him in spite of this. This reinforces to her that diplomacy _won't_ help Vi reach her goals. The council denied her pleas for action, and even Jayce leaves her to fight on her own. At this point, Vi has lost everything all over again. She's pushed away Caitlyn in order to keep her safe. She (presumably) thinks Ekko is dead. And the last time she saw her sister, she nearly killed her. She's alone, and just like in prison, all she has left is violence. No matter what she does, it ALWAYS seems to come back to violence. And _that's_ the tragedy of her character. Vi goes straight to Last Drop in order to kill Silco with her own two hands, or at the very least, take Sevika out of commission. She doesn't care if the plan itself is stupid. She doesn't care if she gets beaten to a pulp and maybe even dies in the process. All she can think to do now is get retribution for all the suffering she's endured in her life. That raw *scream* when she throws the pool table makes it clear her rematch with Sevika was just as much about _catharsis_ as it was her trying to achieve her goal. But of course.. this fails. Vi still "hasn't learned patience," and she still "blocks with her face." If violence IS the answer to her problems, like her life seemed to be telling her, then she's not going to get anywhere by just attacking head on like this. After Sevika once again takes advantage of Vi's rage to momentarily incapacitate her, she finally, FINALLY learns to stop blindly going on the attack, and is able to reach some form of compromise with Vander. She'll continue to fight, but now she understands that in order to move forward, she has to know when to take a step back and *defend* what she has left. The same way Vander once retreated to protect the lanes when it became clear their foe was just too insurmountable for violence alone to stop. Though, even with that growth (and her victory over Sevika), she's still ultimately left alone. She STILL hasn't been able to change anything yet, and that's where I think her final soul scream comes from. There's some other cool details in her final fight with Sevika that are worth taking note of too: When Vi takes a short breather, she starts losing touch with reality in a similar way to how Jinx did while talking to Silco in episode 4. Illustrating how Vi's life has pushed her to the brink, yet in the end, she still doesn't lose her heart. This one is a little disconnected from the rest of the analysis, but Sevika tells everyone to leave both because she doesn't need them getting in her way, but also in order to avoid any unnecessary casualties in the wake of Vi's rage (we even see her affectionately[?] pat one of the patrons as she sizes Vi up, implying some level of concern for them).

saying this movie is not very good, is such a gentle statement, there is a infinite amount of points in the line from an absolute piece of crap to "not very good". I would say this movie has the same world building quality as current star wars, the contrivances and coherence of a jarjarian abrahamic plot and somoe top notch arguments comparable only to "our ships can tell wich way is up", and it's also has all the feeling of some kind of johnson's clown universe. It surprises me that lucas films didn't wanted this jewel, but also it amazes me that some one could ever think that it could be inserted in the star wars universe, well, any universe at all; It's not like episodes 7, 8 and 9 should have been inserted in othet place than KK's butt hole, I ca't explain my self, it feels likie this movie fits current star wars, but it wont fit in any fictional reality, but it should fit in KK's butt hole next to every disney star wars jewel.

i dont think this move is good at all, but i have a problem with your critique of admiral atticus noble. you keep saying it's a cheap trick, and yea it might be, but your reason is that he doesn't have to pretend to be nice to get food from the villagers, and yea that's true, but what's also true, is in psychopaths, a lot of the time, it's the game that motivates them, and also, a lot of the things psychopaths do don't don't make conventional sense, so even though there was no strategic advantage to the facade, it might just be the characters way of "getting off".

The only out for the princess thing would be if Kora knew that the girl was going to regenerate and shot her as a ruse to get her to safety. Shooting her would’ve been the only way to get her out of there alive, in Kora’s mind, so that was the best option. That’s not what happened in that moment. She shot her with intent to kill, and that’s unforgivable.

Star Wars has done its own version of Seven Samurai a couple of times...the difference between those and Rebel Moon is that the times Star Wars did it actually understood Seven Samurai. In those instances, the threat to a village was either local bandits or space pirates, AKA, something that would make sense for the village to be able to fend off. Not a huge imperial force capable of blowing up planets.

5:33 I believe they do mention something about it being a requirement to get a new admiral. So perhaps if they had reason to believe that his thing about getting the grain from here was that admirals’s particular bugaboo and somehow multiple members of the armed forces of the empire, don’t realize they can do this cocoon thing to bring him back. It might make sense. I just think an exchange where she says he’s dead. The general asks if you’re sure and she says there’s no way they could’ve gotten him to the, let’s face it bacta tank, in time.

1:09:45 don’t you think nemesis answering questions from the children who had been following her around all day, fascinated by her robot arms would’ve been a great way to not only show them bonding and giving information about her to the villagers, but reveal her backstory. Then, when the village children realize she lost her children, we could’ve seen her going to lay down after a long day of work and there’s flowers on her pillow or she wakes up and they things like that that show that they’re treating her like family.

The crazy part about her killing the princess is that they could have changed things up a little bit. He lied to me. He said she was going to be kept alive as a figurehead that she was going to be possibly married to someone that he could control. Maybe she assumed the throne she was going to decide to renounce it and a religious order. Then, at the last moment he told me that I could shoot her or she would be cut down like her parents to suffer, bleed and die on the floor, perhaps after being violated in someway. So she was actually trying to protect her from suffering. Then have her get hit a couple of times as she’s escaping, which means it was all but impossible that she actually could pull it off so there’s no way she could’ve rescued the princess.

I feel like the movies would have benifit from a sit down in the writing process to decied character focus. Either have it hobbit focused where we mostly follow bilbo and see everything through him. This would cut a lot of fat from the movies naturally. Or have it dwarf focused where bilbo is there as a kind of chronicaler of accounts but ultimately focus on thorin and a couple other dwarfs. The films as they are feel like they're trying to cover too many people so nobody gets the time we need to care. Obviously cutting the unnecessary scenes would fix a lot but i think the problem is deeper than that. There's a fan edit that i basically decided to regard as the actual cut because it brings it to two films and solved 99% of the issues. So kept the better funny moments and was able to remove the love triangle. Didn't have any jarring cuts and flowed just like an actual cut would. The first "movie" ends with smaugs death if i remember right.

The riddle scene is great. Wish the rest of the movie had been.

To put a band-aid on a 4th degree burn, the bloody armor was the armor they wore to pose as wounded soldiers.

Unfortunately your RRR video has to wait since Amazon decided this is the year for you to destroy Cringes of Power the second time.

No body needing or asking for this movie, are the most imbecilic arguments agains movies made in the lack of any objetive flaw, no body needs any movie, and as far as I can tell the only movies asked for the fans, for over 2 decades, was the episode 7, 8 and 9, Ohh we were so wrong!!! I deeply regreat that. But oc is sexist, due to femenine fragility, they will not rest until every single female character from any media is so hiddeous that their butts wont hurt.

One more thing that I noticed. Literally every blast from the Dreadnought makes a mushroom cloud. The problem isn't the mushroom cloud itself, the problem is how it forms. The mushroom clouds form the second the "shell" explodes. And that's not how mushroom clouds work. They take time to form from hot air rising up and colder air being drawn in. Also also, the shot where they blow up Titus' men shows the explosion producing wind instantly. But, that's not how it works xD If an explosion of that size produces wind that reaches the characters basically instantly, it's probably gonna produce a shockwave that's gonna Thanos them away. Not to mention that standing so close to a fireball like that is gonna expose the Titus and Balasarius and the rest to an instant, skin-evaporating heat blast. They'd be cooked to a crisp before the shockwave even has time to hit them. I know this is going very into nitpick-territory, but, hey, the movie's garbage, so it can't get away with dumb shit for the coolz. Only good movies can get away with dumb shit for coolness.

1:27:09 my favorite reaction to this overused gag is in the movie Sahara. The pilot and the BBEG see the explosive, and frantically try to reach it as they begin to loose control of their helicopter. It accomplishes everything this stupid trope does, but is also believable.
